Drive to Thekkady. On arrival, check into the hotel. Visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978, one of the world’s most fascinating wildlife reserves stretching across 777 sq. km, of which 360 sq. km is thick evergreen forest. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing in Thekkady. Activities include boating at Periyar Lake (where wild animals can often be spotted), optional jeep safari, visit to a spice plantation, and an elephant ride. Overnight stay in Thekkady. (Sightseeing options are for information only.)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey. Board a traditional houseboat for an overnight backwater cruise. Check-in at 1:00 pm; the cruise starts with lunch. While cruising, enjoy views of paddy fields, local villages, rustic homes, ancient churches/temples, and coconut groves. Food served onboard. Overnight stay in the houseboat.
After breakfast, check out from the houseboat and drive back to your home.
