Overview

A classic 5-day Kerala circuit: arrive in Cochin and head straight to the tea-carpeted hills of Munnar, continue to the wildlife-rich forests of Thekkady, then relax by the serene backwaters of Kumarakom before departing from Cochin.

Highlights include Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake and Echo Point, the Nilgiri Tahr at Rajamalai (Eravikulam), Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady with optional lake boating and spice plantation visit, and Kumarakom’s lakeside charm with optional canoe or houseboat rides.

Itinerary

Follow this 5-day plan spanning Munnar’s hills, Thekkady’s forests and Kumarakom’s backwaters. Sightseeing options are provided for information; availability and timings may vary.

DAY 1 - Cochin to Munnar

On arrival at Cochin Airport, our representative receives you. Drive to Munnar (140 km – approx. 4 hours). Check in to the hotel and spend the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Munnar.

DAY 2 - Munnar sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed for local sightseeing. Visit Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake and Echo Point. Afternoon proceed to Rajamalai (Eravikulam) to see the rare Nilgiri Tahr. Overnight stay in Munnar.

DAY 3 - Munnar to Thekkady

After early breakfast, check out and drive to Thekkady (110 km – approx. 3 hours). Check into the hotel. Afternoon visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary (777 sq km). Optional (extra cost): Boating on Periyar Lake, Spice Plantation visit, Bamboo Rafting, Trekking, Elephant Ride. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

DAY 4 - Thekkady to Kumarakom

After breakfast, check out and drive to Kumarakom (170 km – approx. 4 hours). Check into the hotel. Spend the day sightseeing in and around Kumarakom, a backwater hamlet on the western banks of Vembanad Lake. Options include canoe, motor boat, or houseboat rides. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.

DAY 5 - Kumarakom to Cochin Departure

Early morning (around 6:00 am) visit the bird sanctuary. After breakfast, check out and drive to Cochin Airport (85 km – approx. 2.5 hours) for your onward journey.
